  Solar Electric Systems

Special Solar PV Promotion for Sierra Club Members.

We are TrueAC certified installers. We have found over the past several years that ACPV systems maximize energy harvest while delivering the safest solution. Our systems provide superior reliability and have a manufactures 25 year warranty. We constantly search for materials that allow us to reduce our system cost so more Virginans can own solar.

Generating electricity using your own renewable energy system meets the values of an increasing number of home and business owners. Many people enjoy the independence they gain and the knowledge that their actions are helping to save our environment.

A renewable energy system can be used to supply some or all of your electricity needs. Most people connect their systems to the grid and use them to reduce the amount of conventional power supplied to them through the grid. A grid-connected system allows you to sell any excess power you produce back to your power provider.

A solar electric/photovoltaic (PV) system is a reliable and pollution-free producer of electricity for your home or office. And they're becoming more affordable all the time. Their has been significant cost reductions over the past few years. PV systems also provide a cost-effective power supply in locations where it is expensive or impossible to send electricity through conventional power lines.

A grid-connected system allows you to power your home or business with renewable energy during those periods when the sun is shining. Any excess electricity you produce is fed back into the grid. When renewable resources are unavailable, electricity from the grid supplies your needs, thus eliminating the expense of electricity storage devices like batteries.

In addition, power providers in Virginia allow net metering, an arrangement where the excess electricity generated by grid-connected renewable energy systems "turns back" your electricity meter as it is fed back into the grid. Thus, if you use more electricity than your system feeds into the grid during a given month, you pay your power provider only for the difference between what you used and what you produced.

Why pay for Dominion NON-VIRGIAN Green Power when you can PRODUCE REAL GREEN POWER MADE IN ON YOUR HOME!

Ocasionally some one ask about break-even or other financial measures like IRR or NPV, if that interest you go here

Now, Non-Profits can use a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to install solar PV with no up front cost. With the PPA model, the non-profit doesn't own the solar. There is no up front cost or maintenance responsibility. The Non-Profit simply buys the solar electricity the system produces. In 2013 the General Assembly changed the law allowing PPAs for a two year pilot period. Help us make this financing option available to more Virginians.
